  • Live Dealer Roulette

Since the advent of live dealer games, online gambling became more popular than ever. One of the most sought games is the live dealer roulette. Online casino games that use live dealers through live streaming are preferred by many online gamblers as opposed to games with computers as the dealer. This is because live dealer games give a more realistic feeling to the game. Live dealer roulette, live dealer blackjack and live dealer poker are among the most popular live dealer games.

    About Roulette

Just like other gambling games, it is important to understand the basics about roulette before attempting to play for real. Roulette traces its origin from Paris during the 17th century. It is believed that roulette as it is played today has been around since 1796. Roulette is a game of chance played by any number of players against a banker or croupier. The game is played using a roulette wheel and a roulette table. The roulette wheel is divided into alternate red and black compartments numbered from 1 to 36. The numbering is not always in numerical order. Aside from the 36 number, there is one compartment which is numbered 0 and in the US, another compartment is numbered 00.

    Roulette Table

The roulette table has spaces which are numbered and colored corresponding to the numbers and colors of the roulette wheel. The layout of the American roulette table is different from that of European roulette table. Players will place their bet in various ways after which the croupier will set the wheel spinning. At the same time, the banker throws an ivory marble into the bowl in the opposite direction to the movement of the wheel. When the wheel stops moving, the ivory ball will rest in one of the compartments which will determine the winner of the game.

The live dealer roulette is played in the same way as that of the land based roulette. However, instead of placing your bets on the table, players will place their bets by clicking. Once a live dealer roulette game is loaded, players will then choose the value of the chip they want to wager and click directly on the area in the table where they want to place their bets; this must be done before the timer runs out. Clicking the chip value several times will increase the number of chips but this can be reversed by clicking the ‘Clear Last’ button which will remove the chip. Players can also click the ‘Cancel’ button to remove all bets. The dealer will then spin the wheel and throw the ball. Once the winning number is determined, all bets placed will be settled automatically.

    Live Dealer Roulette

There are some interesting features of live dealer roulette. A chat window is available for the players to communicate with the dealer or supervisor. The history window will show the outcome of the recent spins and the ‘View’ option enables players to zoom the camera into different areas of the table.

    Betting Options

There are several betting options players can use both in online roulette and land based roulette. There are the inside bets which are placed within the 1-36 grid. Inside bets include split bet, straight up bet, street bet, corner bet, special bets and line bets. Outside bets on the other hand are placed outside the 1-36 grids. These are: dozen bet, column bet, high/low bet, even/odd bet and the color bets.
